1/1/07 - WEST VIRGINIA RALLIES TO BEAT GEORGIA TECH IN THE 2007 TOYOTA GATOR BOWL 

JACKSONVILLE, FL 1/1/07 - The West Virginia Mountaineers were crowned the 2007 Toyota Gator Bowl Champions on Monday at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium after a come from behind victory over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 38-35 before a crowd of 67,714.

Georgia Tech entered the game with a 9-4, 7-1 record and the Coastal Division champions of the Atlantic Coast Conference.  This was their 7th appearance in the Gator Bowl and their third matchup with West Virginia.

West Virginia entered the game with a 10-2, 5-2 record and a No. 12/13 national ranking. This marked the Mountaineers 6th trip to the Gator Bowl and their first Gator Bowl win.

The Most Valuable Players of the game were Patrick White, QB for West Virginia and Calvin Johnson, WR for Georgia Tech.
