Employees of W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Named Presenting Sponsor of the Konica Minolta Gator BowlJACKSONVILLE, FL – Kelly Madden, North Florida Region President of Wachovia Bank and this year’s Chairman of the Gator Bowl Association, announced today that the employees of W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Inc will be the Presenting Sponsor of the 63rd Annual Konica Minolta Gator Bowl. This will be the second year that the Employees of W. W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Inc. have supported the Annual Gator Bowl Classic at the level of Presenting Sponsor. W.W. Gay, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Inc. applauded the employees of W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor, Inc. for their active participation in the community. “Our employees are involved in many civic organizations. They are coaches for little league ball teams, active as scoutmasters and leaders. Their sponsorship of the Gator Bowl expands and illustrates the desire to see the Gator Bowl perpetuated,” “Bill Gay has been actively involved with the Gator Bowl Association for over 50 years and has played an instrumental role in the success the Association has achieved. Bill Gay presided over the 27th Annual Gator Bowl game, also known as the Dooley Bowl, that was played on December 31, 1971 featuring Georgia and North Carolina. He was also inducted in to the Gator Bowl Hall of Fame on December 31, 2002. The 63rd Annual Konica Minolta Gator Bowl presented by W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractor Employees will be played January 1, 2008 at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. Kickoff will be at 1:00 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports. This year’s Konica Minolta Gator Bowl will feature the #20 Virginia Cavaliers against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Konica Minolta Gator Bowl is an official game of the Gator Bowl Association, a 501(c) 3 not-for profit organization whose mission is to provide Northeast Florida with the very best in college athletics and related activities in order to maximize positive impact on the area’s economy, national image and community pride. Its primary charitable activities are focused on education and youth in the North Florida area. |
