4/19/06 - ACC announces 2006 ACC Football Championship Game will kickoff at 1:00 p.m.

GREENSBORO, N.C. ? The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today that the 2006 Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship game will kickoff at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 2. The league?s second annual football title game will be played at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida, and for a second straight year the game will be televised nationally by ABC.

A year ago, before 72,749 fans in the league?s inaugural title game, Florida State's Willie Reid returned a punt 83 yards for a touchdown and Drew Weatherford threw for 225 yards and one touchdown as the Seminoles claimed their 12th ACC title in 14 years with a 27-22 victory over Virginia Tech.
