CBS Sports has reached a multi-year agreement with the Gator Bowl Association to broadcast the Toyota Gator Bowl, it was announced today by Tony Petitti, Executive Vice President and Executive Producer, CBS Sports and Rick Catlett, Gator Bowl Association President.
Beginning January 1, 2007, the CBS Television Network will showcase the 62-year-old bowl game live from Jacksonville Municipal Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Gator Bowl, the sixth oldest college bowl game and first post-season bowl game to be televised nationally, features teams from the ACC versus the Big XII, Big East or Notre Dame.
It is exciting to bring the Gator Bowl back to CBS Sports, said Petitti. We look forward to adding the best of the ACC, the Big XII, Big East and Notre Dame to our college football finale each year. The addition of the Gator Bowl promises that CBS Sports will televise some outstanding and memorable bowl matchups in the coming years.
